In order to avoid the big problems of operation failure, equipment and manpower loss caused by small installation errors, this article specially explains the installation precautions of ATS series servo system, hoping to help you install servo in an orderly, orderly and stable manner.
Installation of 1. ATS Series Servo Drives
1Installation Environment

Note:

Please install in the installation cabinet without sun and rain;

The installation space has sufficient heat dissipation conditions;

There must be a reliable and stable base or back plate, and no vibration place;

Do not use the servo drive in the presence of metal dust, toner, humidity, or extreme temperatures in the environment.
2Installation Method
Single servo installation
In order to make the cooling cycle effect good, when installing the Otong servo driver, it must maintain enough space for the upper, lower, left, and right adjacent items and baffles (walls), otherwise it may cause insufficient heat dissipation and cause high temperature of the servo driver. Failure. During installation, the suction and exhaust holes cannot be sealed or dumped, otherwise it may cause failure.

Multiple Servo Installation
If multiple servo drivers need to be installed, please refer to the following figure for servo installation spacing distance. It is recommended to leave more than 10mm spacing on both sides of the horizontal and more than 50mm spacing on both sides of the vertical. If the servo drive is installed in an electrical cabinet, install a cooling fan in the electrical cabinet to allow the servo drive to dissipate heat.

Be sure to ground the grounding terminal, otherwise there may be a risk of electric shock or interference and malfunction.

When wiring the drive, please route the cable vertically downward as much as possible to avoid the liquid flowing into the drive along the line when there is liquid attached to the cable on site.

Installation of 2. Servo Motor
1Installation Environment
Note:

The motor installation space must not be completely closed. Pay attention to ventilation and heat dissipation, and maintain the motor in a suitable working environment temperature, otherwise it will shorten the service life of the motor;

The installation of the motor must have a reliable and stable base or back plate;
-
Keep away from other heat source equipment, such as electric stoves;
-
If the motor is used in the place with oil and dust, please select the motor with appropriate sealing grade;
-
The motor can only be used in general industrial occasions. Do not use the motor in an environment containing chlorine, ammonia, and other acids and alkali gases, otherwise it may cause corrosion of the motor joints and shaft ends.
2Installation Tips
Handling of connector parts
-
When connecting the connector, please make sure that there is no foreign matter such as garbage or metal sheet in the connector.

When connecting the connector to the servo motor, be sure to connect it from the main circuit cable side of the servo motor, and the ground wire of the main cable must be reliably connected. If the encoder cable side is connected first, the encoder may malfunction due to the potential difference between PEs.

Be sure to hold the servomotor body when carrying out the operation with the cable connected. If you only grab the cable for handling, you may damage the connector or break the cable.

If bent cables are used, sufficient care should be taken in the wiring operation not to stress the connector part. If stress is applied to the connector part, it may cause damage to the connector.
Encoder considerations

During the installation process, it is forbidden to hit the shaft extension end and the back of the motor, otherwise the internal encoder will be broken.

For servo motor shafts with keyways, use the screw holes at the shaft end to install. For shafts without keyways, friction coupling or the like is used.

When installing a pulley on a servo motor shaft with a keyway, use a screw hole at the end of the shaft. In order to install the pulley, first insert the double-ended nail into the screw hole of the shaft, use a washer on the surface of the coupling end, and gradually lock the pulley with the nut.
