On-line Moisture Detection of Ironmaking Coke Mixing
Moisture is one of the important factors affecting the sintering process in the steel industry, which plays an important role in bonding, lubrication and thermal conductivity. During the sintering of the mixture, the moisture in the upper sinter evaporates into water vapor during the heating process. With the ventilation, water vapor begins to condense on the surface of the lower cold material to form an over-wet layer, which has poor air permeability and hinders the combustion process and heat transfer process.
In sintering production, it is necessary to mix the raw materials evenly and add water to moisten properly, which helps to form balls and improve the air permeability of the mixture. Therefore, the moisture of the mixture is a very important factor affecting the sintering process, in general, the appropriate moisture fluctuation range will have a significant impact on the mixture to make ball, and then affect the quality of sinter. The advantage of the online microwave moisture measuring instrument is the penetration measurement, which can test the average moisture of the entire material, and calculate the sum of the moisture on the surface and inside of the material, and the test results are more representative. Below a microwave energy transmitting probe, after penetrating the material, there is a receiving probe above to receive the energy after microwave loss. The percentage moisture content is calculated from the amount of energy lost.
